Sterling Barker

Sterling Martin Barker, age 64, Kincaid, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Prescott Country View. He was born at Iola, Kansas on September 16, 1953 the son of Sterling C. and Bonnie Creason Barker. He graduated from Moran High School in the Class of 1971. He married Coleen Stewart. To this union five children were born. Sterling loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He worked as a dairy farmer and at Gates Rubber to provide for them. He enjoyed fishing, collecting guns and knives, watching westerns and playing with the family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nikki Barker on May 13, 2000, his mother, Bonnie, and a sister Cheri. He is survived by two sons, Sterling L. "Buzzy" Barker and Missy, and Justin Barker and Marcia, two daughters, Randi Ranes and Scott, and Casey Barker and Charlie, his father, Sterling C. Barker, two brothers, John and Mark Barker and ten grandchildren: Tyler, Clinton, Casen, Ethan, Holden, Beckett, Jensen, Josh, Olivia and Claire. Graveside funeral service will be held 10 am Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Boulware Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm Thursday, January 18 at the Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City Chapel. Contributions are suggested to Prescott Country View c/o Schneider Funeral Home.
