Virgil Wiedner

Virgil Lee Wiedner, 81, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at Fort Scott Manor, Fort Scott, Kansas. He was born March 9, 1930 in Walcott, Kansas, the son of Ben and Bertha May Akes Wiedner. On February 18, 1955 he married Margaret Louise Wood at Kansas City, Kansas. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Pleasanton, Kansas; the VFW and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was a Korean War veteran, serving with the United States Army. Virgil was employed as a pump assembler for Fairbanks Morse for 39 years, prior to retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Fred, Ben and Charles Wiedner. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Louise of Pleasanton, Kansas; one son, Michael Wiedner of LaCygne, Kansas; one daughter; Michelle Bull & Rick of McLouth, Kansas; four brothers, Floyd, Donald, John and David Wiedner; one sister, Bertha Hall; two grandchildren; Jeremiah Bull & Molly and Mark Bull; three great grandchildren; Grace, Emma and Brennan. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Wednesday at the Chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Church of the Nazarene or Fort Scott Manor. Interment will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery, Pleasanton, Kansas.
