Virgil Wurtz

Virgil Wayne Wurtz, age 77, of Aurora, Colorado, formerly of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Olathe Hospice House. He was born on January 2, 1939 at Linnville, Kansas the son of Benjamin and Viola Brandt Wurtz. He began his working career in construction and later became a bus driver, retiring from the Denver Transit Authority. He was an Army Veteran. Virgil was one of twenty-six children. All have preceded him except Willie, Roscoe, Bob, Albert, Lester, Lillie and Thelma. He is also survived by a son, Rodney Wurtz, two daughters, Micha Banks and husband Jerry and Marta Wurtz; five grandchildren: Alicia, Kaleigh, Blythe, Levi and Sam; and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Wayside Waifs.
