William Davis

William R. Davis, 77, of Pleasanton, KS, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at his home in Pleasanton. He was born June 1, 1928, at Kansas City, Mo, the son of Willie and Cora Elizabeth Reynolds Davis. He began working at an early age at a gas station, and later at Mt. Moriah Cemetery and finally at Central Armature Co. He married Betty New on March 29, 1947, at Kansas City, KS. He was a Methodist and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Pleasanton. He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; three sons, Gary Wayne Davis and wife, Constance of Lone Jack, MO, Donald Davis and wife, Leslie of Raytown, MO and Ronald Davis of Kansas City, MO; three daughters, Billie Mabry and husband, Jim of Jacksonville, Ill.; Sharon Jordan and husband, David of Overland Park, KS and and Terry Jones and husband, Bill of Pleasanton, KS; one brother, Russell Manes, 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, KS. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
