William Hamilton

William "David" Hamilton, 96, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Prescott Countryview Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. He was born October 8, 1911 in Linn County, Kansas, the son of Hugh and Susie Hays Hamilton. David was self-employed as a farmer and stockman. He married Dora Blangy on September 16, 1941. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2007. David was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasanton, Linn County Farm Bureau, ASC Board, a life member of the VFW Post #862, and a founding member of the Trading Post Museum. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. Survivors include one son, Paul Hamilton of Pleasanton, Kansas; one daughter, Linda Thomas and husband, David of Prairie Village, Kansas; five grandchildren, Jeff Thomas & wife, Jenny, Rob Thomas, Adam Hamilton, Aubin Skipper & husband B.J.,and Alison Hamilton and seven great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 28, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Sunday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton. Contributions are suggested to the Prescott Countryview Nursing Home.
