William Murrow

WILLIAM "GORDON" MURROW William "Gordon" Murrow, 88, of Blue Mound, Kansas, died Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Ottawa Retirement Village, Ottawa, Kansas. He was born January 15, 1918 at Blue Mound, Kansas, the son of William and Mattie Morrell Murrow. He was married to Alice Ross on May 26, 1936 in Iola, Kansas. He was farmer and rancher. Gordon was a member of the Blue Mound Federated Church, and also a Yenia Masonic #47 and Shrine- Mirza Temple Pittsburg, Kansas. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Murrow; and two sisters, Lucretia Collins and Olive Abbey. Survivors include his wife Alice Murrow of Ottawa, Kansas; one son, Elton Murrow & Ruby of Ottawa, Kansas; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to Shriners Hospital Transportation. Interment will be in Sunny Slope Cemetery, Blue Mound. Arrangements: Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City, Kansas.
