William Pointer Jr.

William Corwin Pointer Jr. "Pete", age 71, Mound City, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Prescott Country View. He was born at Fort Scott, Kansas on August 6, 1946 the son of William and Josephine McGlathery Pointer. He graduated from Pleasanton High School . On December 25, 1966, he married Ruby Fritts in Mound City, Kansas at the First Baptist Church. He and Ruby owned and operated buses for the Pleasanton School Distric. He then worked as a sprinkler fitter for Conley Sprinkler before retirement. He was a member of the Sprinkler Fitter''s Union Local #669. Pete loved his family and community. He enjoyed taking care of his cattle. The family takes great solace in knowing that Pete was at peace with his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brandon Pointer. Pete is survived by his wife, Ruby, two sons, Eric Pointer and wife Wendi, and Bryan Pointer, a brother Joe Pointer and wife Linda, a sister Maxine Johnson, and three granddaughters: Kyra, Jaidyn and Danyka. Memorial service will be 7 pm Wednesday, January 10, 2017 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm. The family suggests contributions to Children''s Mercy Hospital c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 525, Pleasanton, KS 66075.
