Kathy Newcome

Kathryn Elaine "Kathy" Newcome passed away Thursday December 1, 2022.  She was born in Olathe, Kansas on March 14, 1959 the daughter of Russell and Phoebe Marie Burt Clay.  Kathy was united in marriage to Donald Newcome on December 6, 1975 in DeSoto, Kansas.  She worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for over twenty years in home health and nursing home care.  More important, she was a homemaker and "Nana".  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.  She also was an accomplished shopper.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Russell Newcome, a daughter, Julie Ann Newcome, a grandson, Dalton, two brothers, Russell Clay Jr., and Marvin Clay, and two sisters, Patricia Hooper and Diana Kessler.  Kathy is survived by her husband, Don, a daughter, Denna Moore, a brother, David Clay, three grandchildren, Kaitlynn(Bryan), Elizabeth, and Benjamin(Katelynn), and seven great grandchildren, Jayden, Kensley, Emeralld, Avah, Lucas, Noah, and Brantley.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  Burial in the Richland Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1 pm to service time at the Pleasanton Chapel.  Memorial Contributions can be made to the Olathe Cancer Center, c/o Schneider Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
