Letha Kwasney

Letha F. Schmitz Kwasney, age 79, of Olathe, Kansas formerly of Mound City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday September 3, 2019. She was born in Farlinville, Kansas on June 19, 1940 the daughter of Oscar and Edna Poole Schmitz. She graduated from Mound City High School in the Class of 1958. Letha then attended Fort Scott Community College and later received her LPN certification. She truly was happy practicing nursing. She also liked to read, watch television, crossword puzzles, cooking and camping at the Lake of the Ozarks. She was preceded in death by her parents. Letha is survived by husband Ron Kwasney, her thirty-five year companion; a son Rodney Wurtz; two daughters, Micha Banks(Jerry) and Marta Jo Wurtz; two brothers, Kenney and Gary(Pam) Schmitz; a sister Verlyn Coble(Monty); five grandchildren, Alicia, Kaleigh, Levi, Sam and Blythe; and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday September 6, 2019 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time at the Schneider Mound City Chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer''s Foundation.
